Newborn
Photography
Newborns are the most special of little people. Every tiny detail of those blissful newborn days should be captured with love and emotion. They grow so quickly.
It’s is best to book in for your newborn photography when you are around 12-20 weeks pregnant. You will be given a provisional date for your session, usually eight days after your due date. Babies can be very unpredictable so I ask that once your bundle has arrived, you drop me a message, and we can confirm a date to suit you under the three weeks mark. This way, babies are generally much sleepier and have that ‘womb-like’ curliness making it easier to pose them as they snooze. It’s also your time to relax with a hot drink and a biscuit or two!
Proud big brothers, sisters and parents are always welcome to jump in for pictures with their family’s newest addition. These emotive shots are usually my favourite.
Sessions can last from 2-4 hours and are completely led by baby. They are informal, relaxed and give plenty of time for milk breaks and cuddles.
Session Pricing
Sessions are secured with a £65 fee; this covers studio time, full use of luxury props and post-production of images. Sessions take place during weekday mornings only.
Around a week after your session, you will be invited back to the studio to view your gallery as a slideshow to music where you can enjoy your shoot results. This is when you can purchase your images from the three collections listed below. Wall art, additional prints and digital files can be purchased to enhance your chosen collection.
All collections include the highest quality mounted prints giving you the option to display them in your home the way they deserve or gift to the family.
Photography can be a luxury for some, but I firmly believe everyone should have the opportunity to capture their family milestones. This is why I offer a three-monthly payment plan, giving you the option to pay over three consecutive months and receive your collection once the balance is paid in full.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my newborn session?
It’s best to book in as soon as you have had your 12-20 week scan.
I find myself booked up months in advance.
Newborn bookings are limited each month, giving room to move things around when babies arrive early or late.
How long does the newborn shoot last?
Around 2-4 hours depending on baby on the day.
There is plenty of time for comfort breaks as needed.
There is only one newborn session booked per day, meaning you will be given lots of time to relax and enjoy your shoot.
What do I need to bring along?
Bring along a warm blanket, plenty of milk and nappies. Bring along a dummy too as these can really help to soothe baby during the session.
I have everything else to hand in the studio.
There is a coffee machine and light snacks available too, this could well be your first outing with your new baby and I know you may have skipped breakfast to make it on time!
How old should my baby be?
It’s best to photograph newborns within the first 2 weeks of life.
This way, they are still super curly and sleepy enough to pose whilst in a deep milky sleep.
Newborns can still be photographed at 3-4 weeks too.
Any older than this and babies will be slightly more awake which can be lovely, awake shots can be beautiful.
Where do the newborn sessions take place?
You can find me at my home studio in Winwick, Warrington.
The studio is a fully converted double garage, fully equipped with everything you need to have a unique photography session.
There is plenty of free parking right outside the studio.
What shall we wear to the session?
The studio is warmed up to a cosy temperature to create a womb-like to keep baby settled, so it’s a good idea to wear light layered clothes.
If you are having pictures with baby, wear white/plain/neutral clothes.
This styling will ensure your images remain timeless and classic.
Are the images additional to the £65 session fee?
Yes. The session fee of £65 will secure your booking and covers the exclusive studio time, full use of props, backdrops and post-production of images.
On your viewing appointment, you choose your images from the 3 packages listed.
Can you come to my house to do the newborn session?
No I don’t offer at home sessions.
